Responding to shifting demands to skills: How do we get firms and post-school education and training organisations to work together?
The LMIP hosted its third policy roundtable on 21 August 2014 on the topic, Responding to shifting demands for skills: How do we get firms and post-school education and training organisations to work together?
(l to r): Dr Glenda Kruss (LMIP); Ms Gerda Magnus (DHET), Mr Michael Gastrow (LMIP)
The roundtable brought together firms, post-school education and training organisations and government departments to debate the key question of how to strengthen interaction between the actors on the education and training supply side, and on the sectoral demand side.
The central concern informing the discussion was how to identify incentives, mechanisms and interventions that will encourage education and training organisations and industry to work together more effectively, to mutual benefit and to address national skills priorities.
