Identifying skills needs in South Africa
The question of scarce skills remains a hotly debated topic in South Africa. The fourth policy roundtable held on 30 September 2014, brought together key stakeholder to discuss the approaches and methodological considerations necessary to develop an annual report for occupations in high demand for South Africa.

Multiple lists of scarce skills currently exist. The general consensus emerging from the event was that there is a need to develop a single Scarce Skills Framework that can yield multiple lists that serve the purposes of different stakeholders.
